Each priority is its own fundable initiative. Explore them all, then support the one that speaks to you.
Access to Justice
Protecting Families Through Trusted Legal Support
Every family deserves access to trusted legal guidance, regardless of income or immigration status. Secure Families Collaborative is expanding partnerships with leading legal experts and community organizations to ensure immigrant families receive timely, high-quality legal support.
Together with nationally respected attorneys, law schools, and local nonprofit partners, we are strengthening:
- Deportation defense
- Affirmative immigration legal services
- Family preparedness planning
- Legal education and Know Your Rights trainings
- Technical assistance for community organizations
Through partnerships with USF School of Law, Professor Jacqueline Brown, Professor Bill Hing, Sonoma Immigrant Services, Maureen McSorley, and the African Advocacy Network, we’re building a stronger legal safety net for families across the North Bay.
Community Stabilization
Helping Families Stay Safe, Housed, and Connected
Unexpected financial hardships can quickly become crises for immigrant families, especially when immigration legal issues/delays, job disruptions, or emergencies affect their ability to meet basic needs.
Through our Community Stabilization Fund, Secure Families Collaborative provides direct financial assistance to eligible families facing urgent challenges. Flexible support may help cover essential needs such as housing, utilities, or other critical expenses that allow families to remain safe and stable.
By helping families navigate temporary hardships, we reduce the risk of long-term instability while connecting them to trusted legal services and community resources that support lasting resilience.
Multicultural Promotora Network
Trusted Community Leaders, Stronger Communities
Promotoras are trusted community leaders who bridge the gap between families and essential services.
We’re expanding Sonoma County’s multicultural Promotora network to provide culturally responsive outreach, education, and resource navigation in communities that traditional systems often struggle to reach.
This work ensures families receive accurate information from people they already know and trust.
Emergency Preparedness
Building Community Before Crisis Happens
Preparation saves time, reduces fear, and helps families respond confidently during emergencies.
This initiative strengthens regional rapid-response partnerships that connect immigrant families with reliable information, legal guidance, emergency planning resources, and coordinated community support during emergencies or immigration enforcement activity.
Together, we’re creating systems that communities can rely on when every minute matters.
Economic Opportunity
Creating Pathways to Long-Term Stability
Economic security strengthens families and entire communities.
This initiative supports innovative programs that expand opportunities through:
- Workforce development
- Entrepreneurship
- Cooperative business development
- Financial literacy
By investing in economic mobility, we’re helping families build lasting financial stability while strengthening the local economy.
Family Wellness
Supporting the Whole Family
Families thrive when they have access to coordinated care that addresses legal, health, and social needs together.
Through the Immigrant Legal Health Collaborative (IHLC), Secure Families Collaborative partners with trusted community organizations to support community-based clinics and outreach events that bring legal services, mental health support, health navigation, family preparedness, education, and resource referrals together in one place.
These coordinated services reduce barriers to care, connect families with trusted providers, and ensure support is accessible in communities throughout Sonoma County.
By investing in Family Wellness, you’re helping expand integrated, culturally responsive services that strengthen families before challenges become crises.
Regional Expansion
Bringing Services Closer to Home
Too many families live far from trusted legal and community resources.
This initiative expands the Immigrant Legal Health Collaborative into the Russian River region, Sonoma Valley, and other underserved communities, ensuring more families have access to legal services, health navigation, education, and community support where they live.
By growing our regional network, we’re making trusted services more accessible across Sonoma County.
