Immigrants Built Wine Country
Friday, June 25, 2021
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
The theme will be "Immigrants Built Wine Country," where we will be lifting up the powerful stories of some of our local 1st- and 2nd-generation immigrant-owned wineries. Plus, join us for a keynote talk on the little-known history of Chinese immigrant labor in building some of Sonoma's first wineries, and how the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 meant they would never get to benefit from the fruits of their labor. We will be joined by a special celebrity guest as we explore that history and why continuing to amplify Asian-American and Pacific Islander stories and representation is so critical to countering the rise in anti-AAPI hate.
This event will be open to the entire SFC community to register for free, but paid tickets will include wine from our featured wineries shipped directly to you so we can enjoy the wine tasting together!
