Many also attended the Jan. 27 Board of Supervisors meeting to criticize the board for not taking a stronger stance against any county collaboration with the agency. Bay Area advocates urge city leaders to provide stronger immigrant protections

Bay Area immigration advocates called on San Francisco city leaders Monday to strengthen protections for the city's undocumented community.
The move comes just weeks after President Donald Trump vowed to dispatch scores of federal immigration agents to San Francisco, only to about-face the following day after a conversations with Mayor Daniel Lurie.
San Francisco Rising Executive Director Celi Tamayo-Lee said the threatned surge as "a drill," that Bay Area leaders should take note of in the future of future raids or immigration enforcement.
Many Moons Festival debuts in Sebastopol this Saturday

The first-ever Many Moons Festival, a pan-Asian celebration produced by the Asian American Pacific Islander Coalition of the North Bay (AAPIC), is coming to Ives Park this Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 am to 7 pm.
“We want to celebrate our cultures, take pride in them, highlight them, and share them with the broader community,” said Laurie Fong, the director of AAPIC.
